Reviewer Rating: ***** Stars Title: A Special Power Category: Teen Fiction Author: Glen Ebisch Publisher: Bookmice ISBN: 1-931071-27-6 Release date: 1 October, 2000
Glen Ebisch has created a fast-paced action story in A Special Power. Told in the first person by a young man named Greg, the story details the difficulties three teenagers face because of their paranormal abilities and their inability to control these powers. Yet all teenagers, even without paranormal abilities, can relate to these characters’ feelings of loneliness and alienation.
The plot is well defined. The characters feel real. Their anxieties, fears, and hopes ring true. A mystery to solve adds suspense to the plot that builds to a tense, exciting climax. The reviewer was left momentarily satisfied, yet hoping there would be more adventures involving these characters and their mentor Professor Altman in the future.
