Reviewer Rating: * * * Sunniva Mellby is a headstrong young woman growing up in Viking times. She's beautiful and wanted by many men but her heart only belongs to one---Raven. Despite her mother's raising to be the appropriate housewife, she wants to live her life for her. Although her father has promised her that he would allow her to choose her own husband, there are many men who are wishing for her hand in marriage. Men who are even willing to battle over her. Going back on his promise, her father promises her hand in marriage to a middle-aged Viking man named Rolf Gunnarsson. Rolf is a frightful man who only wants Sunniva for a housewife and the barer of many children. Sunniva completely dislikes him and cannot imagine spending her life wed to him. No matter what anyone says she is determined to marry Raven, the only man
she loves. She has given herself to him mind, body, and soul. The love shared
between Sunniva and Raven is so strong that they are determined to let nothing
stand in their way. Sunniva is even willing to risk being banished just to be
with Raven. Yet on the morning of their wedding, she is taken away by the
dreaded Rolf Gunnarsson. The vivid description and dialogue used will make you feel as if you are experiencing the story first hand. Copyright © 2001 by Tonya Ramagos |
