Reviewer Rating: * * * Tammy Hilz McCallum has written a very romantic and interesting journey back in time with “Dared to Dream.” The heroine, Lauren Ferguson is a character rich in personality and bravado, a perfect match for her dream lover, Nicholas Kenward – a Black Knight, that hangs in Westbourne Castle in England. The artist’s rendition of this portrait has always fascinated Lauren, especially the eyes – she ponders why they appear so angry and yet so sad. Having read all the history available to her on the castle, she is left wanting and wondering all the more. Then one day she takes refuge from a rainstorm in a cave only to be catapulted to a time where she will be able to discover for herself what lies beneath those deep, piercing blue eyes. The tension and pace of “Dared to Dream” will ensure that the three hundred plus paperback pages are read swiftly and deeply. The location, costume and landscape are all thoroughly researched by McCallum to ensure a rich and satisfying meal of romance, hope and wonder. Copyright © 2001 by J.B. Scott |
