Reviewer Rating: * * * * Ryan Lee has just completed his schooling at the Forces Command Interstellar Fleet Academy but he has one more test to pass before he’s deemed a Fleet officer. For his final examination, he’s assigned to the FCSS Lovell with three of his classmates where they will embark on their Apprentice Cruise. The Apprentice Cruise will last one year in which time they will be tested on handling the conditions of actual shipboard life. At first, the year on board the FCSS Lovell seems like it will be a piece of cake, easy and laidback. But when an asteroid hits the ship, wiping out most of the senior officers and sending the ship off course, Ryan Lee finds himself in charge---a position he was no where near prepared for. He finds himself faced with many hard-to-make choices. Some that require him to violate regulations, in order to keep himself and his crew alive. APPRENTICE CRUISE is a fast-paced action-packed adventure that doesn’t let up. The characters are well created and easy to identify with. You feel for Ryan Lee and the position he is placed in to make the right decisions for him and his crew. The situations they are faced with are believable and the difficulty for survival if one wrong move is made is clearly understood. Mr. Bagley has done a wonderful job of creating a gripping story that keeps your heart pounding and ready for more. Copyright © 2002 by Tonya Ramagos |
