Within only hours of meeting her interview subject Ashley had fallen in love.  She didn’t want to leave him, but knew that she only had 20 hours and she must leave or she would be stranded in his time forever.  So with her heart heavy she leaves him, and heads to the rendezvous point.  Set on going home she finds herself confused when she awakes to see him above her.  Oh no, she was never going to get back to her own time, but did she even care?  Thus begins the adventures of Ashley of the Sacred Sandals. 

Throughout this entire book I was drawn into the life and feelings of the main character.  When she was in pain because of the sandals she wore, I felt the pain.  When she fell in love with Alexander I also fell in love with him.  This book was not a romance per se but it included that, adventure, mystery, intrigue, treason and so much more.  I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to be grabbed by a book and not let go till the very end, and then have it make you yearn for more.  This book was masterfully written and I can’t wait to read the second and third book in the series.
