Title: Beetle Bug Adventures
Category:  Children's Fiction
Author: Jennifer L.B. Leese
Publisher: Wordbeams
ISBN:  1-58785-002-8
Release Date: May 1, 2000

Poppy and Hue are best friends. They are also beetle bug boys who live in Gardenville, a small garden in Nicholas' backyard. "Do not go beyond Gardenville's gates," their parents always warn them. But Poppy and Hue, like many young boys, don't always listen to their parents. One day they venture beyond the gates where they make new friends, experience scary moments, and find high adventure.

This is author Jennifer Leese's first published children's book. She has created two charming characters in Poppy and Hue and has drawn a miniature world in vivid detail. Teachers might like to use this as an introduction for a creative writing assignment.

Although the book is listed as 3rd grade reading level, it might appeal more to younger children as a read-aloud story.

Animated pictures are sprinkled throughout the story which also might appeal to younger children. Note that books with animated pictures are available in HTML format only.
