Betrothed to one another in a pact between two rival families since childhood, Thornton Lynwood and Blake Bradley have never met face to face. Blake is in no hurry to claim a future bride he views as an enemy, and he is certain no woman will be able to overlook his disfiguring battle scars. He has told himself no woman could ever truly want "The Beast" of Bradley Hall.

And yet lovely Thornton tires of patiently waiting for her bridegroom to claim her, and simply arrives at Bradley Hall one day with her huge male protector in tow. Thornton is nothing like Blake has imagined, and she doesn't shrink for the sight of her "Beast." No, she demands fulfilment of the betrothal contract. Blake agrees to one year of arranged marriage, after which Blake plans for Thornton to go her own way, leaving "The Beast" in his lair.

Ms. Tudor has crafted a pleasantly fresh diversion on the familiar theme of a heroine out to tame the savage male. Thornton is strong willed, graceful under fire, and filled with a touching utterly unshakeable devotion to a man who cannot believe in love. Thornton and a cast of very likeable secondary characters make Blake and the reader believe all things are possible.

Despite its dark undertone, Beyond Love is a heart-warming story. Historical romance fans won't want to miss it.
